SRP metrics

Unisphere collects and displays metrics for SRPs.

Within the PM metrics section, V4 is used to denote that the metric is supported only by a storage system (array) running PowerMaxOS 10 (6079). V3 is used to denote that the metric is supported only by a storage system (array) running HYPERMAX OS 5977 or PowerMaxOS 5978. Metrics without the denotation are supported by all storage systems (arrays).

For V3 arrays, performance metrics were reported at the SRP level. For V4 arrays, where an SRP has multiple emulations, performance metrics are reported at the emulation levels. For SRPs without multiple emulations, the performance metrics continue to be reported at the high level SRP level.

The following table lists all metrics that are available for SRPs.

BE Read Req/sec The number of read requests each second performed by the disk directors to cache. 
BE Reqs/sec The number of read/write requests each second performed by the disk directors to cache.
BE Throughput Read The number of MBs read by the disk directors from the disk each second (V4)
BE Throughput Transferred Calculated value: (MBs read per sec + MBs written per sec) (V4)
BE Throughput Written The number of MBs written to the disk from the disk director each second 
BE Write Req/sec The number of write requests each second performed by the disk directors to cache (V4)
Compression Dedup Savings Capacity Total capacity saved due to compression and DeDup (both TDEVs and snapshots) (V4)

NOTE: Compression ratio metrics are supported only on systems capable of compression. Any value reported on a system that is not capable of compression should be disregarded.
Overall Efficiency Ratio The ratio of the sum of all TDEVs + snapshot sizes (calculated based on the 128K track size) and the Physical Used Storage (calculated based on the compressed pool track size) (V3)
Pattern Detection Savings Total capacity saved due to pattern detection (both TDEVs and snapshots) (V4)

Snapshot Compression Ratio The ratio of the RDP Logical Backend Storage (calculated based on the 128K track size) and the RDP Physical Used Storage of the RDP space (calculated based on the compressed pool track size) (V3).
NOTE: Compression ratio metrics are supported only on systems capable of compression. Any value reported on a system that is not capable of compression should be disregarded.
Snapshot Efficiency Ratio Ratio of the sum of all snapshot sizes and the RDP Logical Backend Storage (V3)
Snapshot Resources Capacity Max Snapshot Metadata Capacity on the system in capacity units (V4)
Snapshot Resources Used Capacity that is currently used by Snapshots as part of Snapshot Metadata (V4)
Snapshot Shared Ratio Ratio of the Snapshot Allocated Storage and the RDP Logical Backend Storage. Sum of all modified tracks on all snapshots/Sum of the RDP size for all snapshot (V3)
Threshold for Over Provisioning Over provisioning threshold for the SRP (V4)
